Abstract
Introduction: The main goal of root canal obturation (RCO) is to create an impenetrable barrier that will shield the apical tissue from harmful bacteria and their toxins. All efforts must be directed at preventing reinfection. Materials and methods: Sixty human freshly extracted mandibular premolar teeth, with single root for periodontal or orthodontic purposes with single straight root canals type I Vertucci’s classification were collected. Roots were randomly and equally allocated into two groups regarding the type of sealer utilized in RCO, Group 1: obturation by AH-plus sealer and Group 2: obturation by CeraSeal sealer. Each group was further sub-allocated into 2 subgroups regarding the obturation technique used either CLC or WVC. Results: There was no statistically substantial variance regarding coronal, middle, and apical in warm vertical compaction (WVC) and cold lateral compaction (CLC) in Ceraseal. However, there was a noticeable variance between these groups among AH plus and warm vertical compactions. CeraSeal is better adapted to the dentin wall and gutta-perch than AH-plus however, no sample showed a gap-free interface. The warm vertical compaction technique influences the adaptation quality of both types of sealer than the cold lateral compaction. Conclusions: Adaptation of RCO is influenced by the type of sealer and obturation techniques. Ceraseal has a favorable adaptation tendency than AH plus. WVC is more beneficial for the adaptation than CLC. Root thirds do not affect the adaptation of root canal obturation except for AH plus using WVC warm vertical compaction.
